438 - Nowhere

There was fog when I woke up this morning. I went into the garden, took an image of the crooked old fence that runs down the hill, and then went to bed again.

Sigma 70/2.8 at f2.8, 1/50s and ISO 500, post-processing with Photoshop.

In the early afternoon, when the fog had cleared up, I took the car and drove around to take some more shots. I am still abusing the Sigma 70/2.8 macro and try to find out what it can do for me.

This second image is another landscape, and like yesterday’s it is based on a flat S-curve, emphasized by the compression of the telephoto lens. This time it is f8 at 1/400s and ISO 200.

The Song of the Day is “Nowhere” from the 1992 Giant Sand album “Ramp”. No lyrics, sorry.

Odd, I cannot find a posting for December 25th? Hmmmm.... It is as if it tumbled into the Twilight Zone!!

Andreas, your wonderful work and support have been important to me this year. Photography is where I go to escape the rigors of what I do at the day job. In a sense it is a therapy as well as a performance art. The ideas you share in your images have lent me ideas upon which to meditate and strengthen the relaxation which this field provides. Thanks my friend, I wish you and yours a merry and happy...

Ted

Thanks, Ted, for your kind words. Yes there are influences, and that's a good thing. Being the culprit for the tilt in some of your images makes me proud and, with you being the Artist that you are, I deem it quite an achievement 🙂

In fact I have profited much more from our relationship than you could even have. Your strict refusal of any doctrine, your judgment that is focused on nothing but the result, all that has been immensely liberating to me and my art, and consequently I have to thank you.

Regarding the Twilight Zone, well, the time that you see is that of the date that I've posted the entry, and in this case the 25th was posted shortly after midnight, but I admit I was confused as well 🙂

Thanks again

Andreas
