1181 - Cemetery Gates

I’m on the train to Carinthia and this is the image for Wednesday. January 6 is a public holiday in Austria and I used the day for a trip to Stadlau, a part of Vienna where our company is supposed to move in about three years. This is the local cemetery, photographed though the gates.

The Song of the Day is “Cemetery Gates” from the 1986 Smiths album “The Queen Is Dead”. Great music, hear it on YouTube.

And here I was, hopping with joy that you've finally selected some metal for the song of the day 🙂 Your cemetery has quite a light and welcoming look to it. It isn't gothic and gloomy like so many shots of cemeteries that are published. I like the "lightness" of it.

Haha, I don't know, metal is not really my music. Even with classic rock like Deep Purple, you will find me liking things like "April". Otoh, I like Apocalyptica. It's not my music either, but those guys are way cool 😄

I like that our POV is smack dab in the middle of the trees, and middle of the image, but still this doesn't seem to be a perfectly centered and balanced image. Yet it does have balance. I still get an asymmetrical feel from it, which makes this "still life" dynamic.
