1803 - The Warrior

Oh dear, it’s so insanely late! I’ve spent the whole day (well, most of it) with my new phone. I could have waited for the iPhone 5, but I don’t like Apple’s walled garden approach anyway. What I got instead is a Samsung Galaxy S2 16 GB with an extra 16 GB SD card. Nice to have your images, your books, an offline Wikipedia and so much more in your pocket.

The Song of the Day is “Warrior” from Rejane Magloire’s 2005 album “Forbidden Opera”. Hear it on YouTube.

Congrats to the new smartphone. I happen to work with the guys who made the cellular modem in that device, pretty cool, huh? 🙂

I'll bet you'll be using that smart phone's camera a lot - leaving your others at home for a while. And then when you finally go see how they're faring without your attention, they'll feel extra heavy when you pick them up! This is what's happened with my Nikon D300 - now it feels like a tank, compared to the Fuji X100. Oh yes, you did post an image! That bright spiral cord reminds me of cucumber tendrils - and almost makes me feet that bike is alive!

If I tell you that I've made no single image with it so far? Well, the LX5 is small and light enough, gives me more control and makes better pictures 🙂

Although I find some of Apple's policies 'constraining', I do really like the iPhone 4 a lot! As you know, I take many pictures with that phone, using various applications. Also, I've not seen any other smartphone that I think that comes close in design, especially in ease of use. There is something to be said, in my book, about design. Add design + functionality, and you've got a winner. 🙂 Have fun with the camera. I'll bet you'll get more use out of it than you had originally imagined, I know that I did!
