1889 - There's No Lights On The Christmas Tree Mother

Oh, it’s that wonderful time of the year again. Shopping gets painful and collecting a parcel at the post office must be considered suicidal. Both I did yesterday 🙂

And when suddenly the lights go out, well, maybe they’re burning Big Louie tonight! The Song of the Day is the wonderful “There’s No Lights On The Christmas Tree Mother” from the Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s 1972 debut album “Framed”. Hear it on YouTube.

New Olympus pen camera - very cool. I've actually been toying with the idea of either one of these or perhaps the Sony Nex-5n. To be honest, I'm stilling having a hard time grasping Sony in the camera business (or Samsung, or Casio). But, that's slowly giving way to the fact the Nex-5 and 7 are just great cameras. My heart's with Oly though - my first SLR back in '76 was an Olympus OM-1 and I have fond memories... Have fun with the Oly - that's a great shot by the way. Happy Holidays! John

Well, the guy who sold me the E-P2 is in fact replacing it with a NEX-7. And that certainly is a sweet camera. Unfortunately, although I could use all my lenses, none of them would be stabilized and they would also keep their characteristics. On the PEN, every lens is 1.4 times longer and thus a new toy. In a way 😄
