Inside the courtyard. The church is directly built into the block. Without the three gothic windows, you wouldn’t be able to tell from the street. In the courtyard, just the crosses above the entrances give the spiritual nature away.

Here we are in Vienna’s first district, basically the historic city until the early 19^th century.

It was walled until Napoleon forced city walls to be demolished all over Austria. Big parts of the city have been severely damaged in World War II. Here is a typical view for areas off the tourist paths.
