446 - Hide Away

Shooting at f4 and 1/125s and still not sharp. Welcome to the wonderful world of non-stabilized telephoto lenses.

Anyway, I like this image so much (or all the others of yesterday so much less) that it had to be the Image of the Day, thus I have applied some post-processing devices that would easily allow me to print the image at 13x19 inches. It acquired a much more graphic quality, but that’s OK when bicycles hide, comics style 🙂

If you’re interested in the post-processing done, drop me a comment.

The Song of the Day is “Hide Away” from Mick Jagger’s 2001 solo album “Goddess in the Doorway”, which probably deserves a prize for worst cover art.

It would be rude to ask Houdini to explain his tricks, or to ask tinsel town babe how she manages to look so hot... (the first would bark "no comment" and the latter would insist that she never even wears makeup)... so I won't ask about the post processing.

But I will comment on the wonderful palette that reinforces the composition and which breaks the plane into two stories. Interesting how color paints distinct emotions. Which I think is why I find monochrome so much less interesting.

Nice work...

I just had a discussion yesterday with someone who insists on shooting JPEG. I showed her this image as an example of what you can't do with JPEG. Begin pushing colors that much, and they fall apart.

Thanks Ted

Hmmm... Houdini never offered to shed light on his tricks. So, allow me to be rude... Andreas, could you give some details on post-processing? Always curious to learn...
