4331 - Theater des Westens


We’re back to the west. I suppose it’s visually obvious 😃

I took this image while waiting for my dinner at the terrace of one of the better Italian restaurants. It’s a pretty bizarre ensemble: the theater itself with its greek-style facade, the church-like spire, and in the background the fortifications of what looks like a castle. This is exactly the kind of playful, chaotic variation, that the communist architecture in the east totally lacked.
